You may be seeing them sending you emails or texts promising to sell your house for more than the market could even bear. So today we want to address what you need to know about these brokers and situations. 

At the end of the day, you get what you pay for when it comes to representation.

In this market, plenty of people think they can just list their properties with any real estate agent and make a great sale. That’s simply not the case. Multiple things need to be discussed before you list such as how to prep the home for photos, whether you need to make any upgrades, what your goals are, and more, which all contribute to you getting top dollar. 

If you list with a discount brokerage, they may take listing photos with their phones and not do the extra steps that are needed to get you all the offers necessary to achieve top dollar. When listing with a traditional brokerage, your house will be professionally staged, have professional photos, quite a bit of leg work will be done, and you’ll likely have an experienced agent negotiating on your behalf. Be aware that discount brokerages are out there, and at the end of the day, you get what you pay for when it comes to representation.
